Fresh Yarn ~ Personal Narratives of Relevance → freshyarn.com

I’ve been looking for a way for my passions to be relevant.

Let’s face it, we (being you and me) live in a world where the buzz words that keep the world spinning on its axis start with fancy words like globalization and ends with even fancier words like deficit spending. These big society-solving words leave poor English majors like myself with a passion for creative writing and good ol’ fashioned optimism scraping the surface of reality for some reason to feel like their life’s dream  hobby is worthwhile. (At least that’s some of the problems I experience on Thursday nights)

Hence a wonderful website above which showcases tons of personal narrative essays. These funny anecdotes highlight everything from a stormy breakup with Indiana Jones to a woman coming to terms with a dying mother whom she hates. These stories remind me that creative writing, specifically the personal narrative, tells a story that no one can easily mimic. And globalization doesn’t quite express the personal story quite as eloquently.

Check out the site, it’s writer’s are hard hitters in the comedy, television, theater industries. (Like Seriously)
